Ciao a tutti!
Dopo le ferie, è giunto il momento di aggiornare la sezione Eventi, proponendovi un breve riassunto della mia partecipazione al fantastico Montelago Celtic Night, giunto quest'anno alla sua decima edizione.
Come componente del Gruppo di Archeologia Sperimentale "Arte Picena", sono stato invitato dal Museo Paleontologico di Serravalle del Chienti (con il quale già in precedenza avemmo modo di collaborare, v. apposita discussione in questa sezione) a collaborare con uno stand espositivo.
Il mio apporto, in questa occasione, si è limitato a pochi oggetti dell'Età del Ferro, ed al solito banchetto relativo all'antropologia, questa volta però curato da un esperto fromboliere, l'amico Thomas Gartmann di Zurigo, conosciuto tramite il sito www.slinging.org e sceso in Italia apposta per l'occasione.
Il suo ottimo lavoro ha permesso di diffondere la conoscenza sulla costruzione e l'uso della frombola; si è anche fatto carico di istruire alcuni ragazzi e ragazze nell'uso di quest'arma, con delle vere e proprie sessioni di allenamento. A lui va il mio ringraziamento più grande.
Per il resto, il festival di Montelago di quest'anno ha avuto circa ventimila visitatori, ed il nostro stand era in una posizione invidiabile, potendo dunque essere visitato da numerose persone.
Molti sono rimasti affascinati dalle nostre realizzazioni in ceramica, in ferro ed in cuoio, e ci siamo tutti prodigati nel promuovere gli studi sperimentali. Di questo dobbiamo anche ringraziare Isabella Piermarini del Museo Paleontologico, senza la quale questa bellissima iniziativa non avrebbe avuto luogo.
L'appuntamento è al prossimo anno, con l'invito a partecipare a questo meritorio e divertentissimo festival!

The summer holidays are gone, and it's time to update the Events section, proposing you a short view of the tenth edition of the Montelago Celtic Night.
As a member of the Experimental Archaeology Group "Arte Picena", I've been asked to join the Paleontological Museum of Serravalle del Chienti (with which we already cooperated, cfr. the proper topic in this section) to collaborate in a showroom.
This time I just brought some objects related to the Iron Age, and the usual anthropological section, which has been cured by the friend Thomas Gartmann, a skilled Swiss slinger virtually met at www.slinging.org and came to Italy for the festival.
His excellent job allowed him to spread the knowledge on making and using the sling, he also taught boys and girls on the use of it, with true training sessions on an open field. To him goes my biggest thanks.
Concerning the festival, there've been more than 20 thousands visitors this year, and our stand was in a perfect spot, which allowed us to be visited by many people.
They got hooked with our ceramic, iron and leather works, and we managed to spread the knowledge of experimental archaeology. For this reason I'd also like to thank Isabella Piermarini, who works at the Paleontological Museum and with whose help we were able to join the festival.
So see you next year at the Montelago Celtic Night!
